The Complete Joy of Homeopathy
It has occurred to me that I’ve been writing about some heavy subjects as of late. And recently I’ve been feeling in a joyous mood. Why? I’m not really sure. There certainly are many troubling issues to write about. But homeopathically speaking, I’m joyous. Lately there has been some press to be thankful for. Homeopathy isn’t always in the limelight amongst the media. Yet just this past month a few really wonderful events happened.
The Forum
Firstly, a milestone in homeopathy happened on Oct 23 at the University of Connecticut Medical School. It was the first time that a medical school held a public forum on homeopathy. It was remarkable – click the link and watch for 2 hours! Here is the National Center for Homeopathy: A PUBLIC DEBATE
Is homeopathy pure quackery or perhaps the future of medicine? The University of Connecticut Medical School sponsored a debate that was held last Thursday (October 25th) and broadcast live (and free) over the internet. Six internationally renowned experts each made a case for or against homeopathy. The panel comprised: Iris Bell, MD, PhD, Rustum Roy PhD , Andre Saine ND, Donald Marcus MD, Steven Novella MD, Naduv Davidovitch MD, PhD. A video of the debate is available - the first 15 minutes are of people taking their seats so use the slider to scroll to the beginning of the debate!

Cindy and Oprah
Then on November 1 Cindy Crawford appeared on Oprah to discuss things she can’t live with out. Strangely enough she chose to talk about her homeopathic remedy kit which she helps to treat common and simple maladies for her family. For a major player in media to openly discuss homeopathy with a guest was truly a joy. The community was in a buzz that a celebrity stood up and talked about homeopathy – and Cindy Crawford no less. It was fun indeed. This is what the National Center for Homeopathy wrote:
HOMEOPATHY ON OPRAH
Cindy Crawford was a guest on Oprah yesterday afternoon sharing a few of her favorite things. Along with her favorite tea and t-shirts she showed a 50-remedy kit (from Washington Homeopathic Products) and a well-thumbed copy of Homeopathic Medicine at Home by Panos & Heimlich. She talked about how she's the 'doctor of the house' and uses homeopathy for everyday complaints and how brilliant it is. How brilliant is that!!! A book on everyone's list
Also, Dana Ullman, MPH, who is really one of the most outspoken proponents of homeopathy, just published a book I am really excited about. He has written many, many books on homeopathy but this one really strikes me as something everyone can understand. It is about the use of homeopathy among the famous and important peoples in the last 200 years. Again from the NCH newletter:
A HOMEOPATHIC REVOLUTION
Dana Ullman has just published a fascinating book about the leaders and cultural heros who have supported and advocated for homeopathy over the past 200 years including: the British Royal Family, Mother Teresa, JD Rockerfeller, David Beckham, 11 American presidents and many others. It is packed full of riveting anecdotes by literary greats, sports superstars, physicians, scientists, celebrities and musicians, artists, business leaders, philanthropists, clergy, spiritual leaders, and monarchs. You can view the table of contents and read a sample chapter here:

I’m hoping this will be under my homeopathic tree this holiday season – wink, wink…
The Complete Joy
However, what I’m most excited about is some of the healings that have taking place at the clinic over the past year, and my own growth as a practitioner. Here are but a sampling:
• A 50 year old suffering from Raynaud’s disease and 19 years of daily sciatica pain gets “surprising” relief after one dose of Lycopodium.
• A 37 man suffering from complete blackouts 4 to 5 times a day with loss of memory gets immediate benefit from a dose of Carbo Vegetabilis.
• an enterprising 45 year old man with complaints of tear gas poisoning 10 years prior accompanied by oppressive chest pains is delighted to be free of them from a dose of Rhus Tox.
• A man in his 50’s comes for complaints of low energy and workplace anxiety is relieved by a dose of Plumbum Metalicum.
• a 9 month old Yorkshire Terrier named “Checkers” on his way to the hospital from food poisoning is helped immediately by a dose of Arsenicum Album and doesn’t need to be admitted.
• a woman in her 40’s who has suffered from respiratory distress since childhood is helped with a dose of Drosera Rotundifolia.
• A young boy with neurological tics is gets immediate help with a dose of Alumina.
• A man in his 20’s feels immediate relief from his difficult past with a dose of homoepathic falcon feather – Falco P.
• A teenage boy with weeping eczema between his fingers is helped quickly and permanently with a dose a Calc Carb.
• A troubling teen is helped from a dose of Crotalus C – the South American Rattlesnake.
• a 3 month old boy is given immediate relief from thrush with a dose of Borax.
what about you?
Could homeopathy help you or a loved one? Probably not…I’m kidding! Of course it can. Tens of millions of people worldwide can’t be wrong. Give me a call or shoot me an email if you’re suffering from a malady physical or emotional and let homeopathy help you. If you are in a different part of the country have no fears – there is new technology in the form of the telephone and webcams that make it easy. Need a referral to a homeopath in your area – give a shout and I’ll hook you up with someone.
Many blessings to you and your family in this holiday season.
