911, trauma and PTSD

This month of September marks the 6th anniversary of the 911 bombings of the World Trade Center in New York City. This certainly was a traumatic and dramatic moment in the history of the United States and perhaps the world in general, ranking up there with JFK and Pearl Habor. It was a moment that affected anyone who watched or heard, especially in these modern media times. It is a memory etched on many minds and emotions. Some who were intimately involved in this event still live and function with this memory on their sleeves. Their every fiber lives in terror and fear. This is what is called PTSD or post traumatic stress disorder. In this edition of Homeopathy Seattle I will take a look at trauma and PTSD to see what homeopathy can offer in this arena of human experience

My 911 experience

My experience of the World Trade Center bombings was unique, as was each one of us. A childhood friend of mine in New Jersey was in one of the towers before the plane hit and after it hit. He ran out as fast as he could and didn’t stop running until he found himself bewildered in Connecticut. I was traveling with my family from Boston to Seattle and we left from Logan Airport at 8:45 AM on a non stop flight. The gate next to us went into the south tower. We never made it to Seattle by plane. Landing in Rochester NY, we rented a car and drove the rest of the way. It was a moment that began a cascade of events that I look back upon with awe, sorrow and wonder.  Perhaps you have a story as well.

Trauma and PTSD - the imprint

Trauma need not have an event to the likes of the Trade Center, yet the impact is the same. Trauma is the event, and PTSD is like a trapped memory that crystallizes in the cells and lives in the body, continuously recycling the emotion. This crystallization is a vibrational imprint of the event and the emotion, in essence it isn’t a real event that is happening again and again it is a phantom or a delusion. Yet, its power and grip is so strong and real, that it might as well be. It’s a pattern that is rooted deep in the unconscious and plays out on the conscious. One homeopath likens it to a man who was walking down the street and suddenly a lion comes out of nowhere and chases this man down the street. The man is running for his life in terror and fear that he may be killed. His blood pressure spikes, he has heart palpitations and is sweating profusely. This man finds cover and the situation passes. Yet when he walks down the same street a month later and a harmless little dog barks and runs after him, he responds in the same frantic way, not only emotionally but physically as well. He is responding as if the same lion were chasing him. It is only a delusion though. The emotional and physical imprint is now trapped in this man; this now becomes one of his only responses to a frightening situation. He is in a pattern of ill health and disease. This is what happens to many after a traumatic event. The imprint is so strong that it affects both mind and body. This is what a homeopath would call a vibrational imprint. It is a layer of pathology that is so strong with its own symptom picture based on individualized susceptibility – meaning stress from the trauma will be expressed in our weak points, where the body will allow something to happen.

The value of Homeopathy for trauma and PTSD

This is where homeopathy becomes so valuable. Homeopathy from a medicinal place is a vibrational, energetic therapeutic. During homeopathic manufacturing the once molecular substance is reduced to nothing via the employment of serial dilution and succussion. Succussion is a vigorous shaking of the remedy between dilutions. This method is how homeopathic remedies have always been made, and is FDA sanctioned, approved and protected. The dilution potency that homeopaths routinely administer are the equivalent to a drop of the actual substance in a body of water the size of the Puget Sound. What’s left beyond the molecules is the vibrational imprint. We are beyond the physics of molecules and on the physics of quantum mechanics. We are at the level of Star Trek when Bones McCoy takes his little hand held unit and beams it at a sick person and makes them well – and homeopath’s have been doing this since before Gene Roddenberry’s great grandparents were born.

Homeopathy works by the Law of Similars. We give a homeopathically prepared substance that is so similar to the actual suffering. Think of how an onion causes a state like a bad allergy – profuse watering and burning eyes, and bland nasal discharge. This is an artificial state caused by a substance. If someone has symptoms just like this naturally, we can give homeopathically prepared red onion (Allium Cepa) and chances are good that these symptoms will be removed as quickly and safely as the vital force will allow. This same idea applies to all symptoms physical and emotional (even trauma and PTSD). I find out how the person is suffering and find a homeopathically prepared substance that mimics their suffering. I give an artificial disease state to a natural disease state. The artificial disease stimulates the person’s own natural healing mechanisms. The two are so similar that cancel each other out. Can this happen? Is it possible? We have 200 years of clinical/empirical data and our own double blind studies to prove it. Not to mention worldwide consumer acceptance and millions of homeopathic doses taken daily.

Can homeopathy help with trauma and PTSD? You bet it can, and it is known as one of the best, one of the safest, one of the gentlest and one of the most permanent removers of illness. Homeopathy can unlock the most ardently locked doors, as it is energy acting on energy.
